Skyline Bay
Skyline Bay is a community center built in Chengdu, China. The building has a construction area of 920 square meters and a two-story double-height layout that forms a semi-enclosed space with partitions but no full separation. The facade is clad in silver-white aluminum plate and champagne gold perforated aluminum plate, shaped into flowing curves that recall butterfly wings. Curved lines continue inside, creating quiet corners for reflection. The design draws on the nearby Shaxi waterway and wetland park and follows a waterfront island concept.
Skyline Bay Community Center by FTA Group has been identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Skyline Bay Community Center earned the Platinum A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
